The Social Inclusion Project

The project will focus on supporting projects addressing social exclusion, involving or affecting young people, between the ages of 14 and 24 years, in East Cornwall. The project will also provide assistance in the development and delivery of projects involving young people.

The project will focus on three main themes:

  • Aspirations and Experiences

Some young people miss out on experiences that others take for granted. Projects can help young people achieve goals that they would otherwise be unable to achieve.

  • Isolation and Access

Projects can provide support for young people who may feel isolated or alone, or have difficulty accessing services.

  • Young People’s Voices

Giving young people the chance to express their opinions and contribute to improving policy and resources are issues that concern them.

Partnership Working (with young people’s issues)

Main partners are Cornwall Youth Service and Young People Cornwall, whose focus is working with young people who have the least opportunity to reach their potential, the disadvantaged and those in danger of exclusion from mainstream activities, such as work, education, training, social activities and family and community life

The Social Inclusion Officer will undertake a range of community regeneration work with young people projects. The work will also include Involving Young People in Consultation and Influencing Others (Strategy).
