What are forum meetings?

A forum is an informal friendly gathering and anyone is welcome. It gives people with mental health issues or their carers the opportunity to have a say about the services they receive and to gain further information. Meetings take place four times a year, both east and west of the county and venues vary to allow as many people as possible to attend. The meetings are organised and attended by a forum planning group, consisting of service users, carers and either our East or West Co-ordinator. Forum representatives then meet with our staff after each forum to discuss the issues raised and to decide what action needs to be taken to answer those important questions and to obtain any relevant information. This information is then fed back to people at the next round of forums, through our monthly newsletter and in our biannual Speaking Up magazine.

Cornwall Foundation NHS Trust’s Day Services Review

If you would like more information on what the Trust has planned for day services, read their current information document here: Day Services Review . We are receiving lots of feedback from day centre members on the changes through our forum meetings. See the meeting notes below for more details on what people are saying and what questions are being raised.

We meet with CFT’s Chief Executive, Phil Confue, on a quarterly basis after each round of forums to put to him any questions that remain unanswered for people. Please see the meeting notes below for further information.
