Community Independent Visiting
The Community Independent Visitors Scheme (CIVS) exists to support people with mental health problems in the community in having a collective say about their care, treatment and quality of life when receiving services from community mental health service providers. The role of a Community Independent Visitor is to act as a confidential and independent listening ear; we are not there to problem solve but to give people time, support, help raise issues, signpost and because you may well have been there yourself – give cause for hope.
If you have any comments you would like to make about the mental health services you receive or have any suggestions for improving services, you can either contact us directly or you can download the Feedback Form here:
CIVS Service User Feedback Form
(please note, this is not for urgent help)
We would like to ask you a few questions about your experience of care plans or crisis plans so that we can gather lots of feedback to take to Cornwall Foundation Trust (CFT). We hope that this will be used to improve the help you receive in the future. If you would like to help, please complete either the Care Plan Questionnaire or the Crisis Plan Questionnaire (or both) by clicking on either of the links below. We do not need your name so you cannot be identified. We hope this helps you to answer freely. Thank you for your time” – Cornwall Mental Health Project

Home Treatment Team and Out of Hours Services
We have been in touch with a service user in Devon called Linda-Teresa Merwood. She represents other service users from around the UK at meetings with the Royal College of Psychiatrists looking at Crisis Resolution and Home Treatment (CRHT) services.
Linda-Teresa has asked whether service users in Cornwall have any comments about what crisis services should be offering. She would like to take these comments to the next CRHT meeting in February. If you have anything you’d like to say, please complete the questionnaire below or email your comments to me at nicki.sweeney@cornwallrcc.org.uk (nicki NULL.sweeney null@null cornwallrcc NULL.org NULL.uk).
If you are interested in becoming a Community Independent Visitor, please give us a call or download the application here: CIVS Application Form
