What is this project about?

This is a three year energy campaign funded by Calor Gas Limited. The aim is to give independent advice and information regarding fuel choices, energy efficient technologies and carbon reduction measures. This initiative is aimed at off-grid rural communities, focusing on those villages with a high index of fuel poverty and will be working in West Cornwall in the first year of the project.

What we can do for you

The project provides information and advice to communities on how to improve their energy efficiency and thus reduce their carbon footprint, information and advice on grant schemes which are available to improve insulation and heating systems and balanced information on the fuel options and various energy efficient technologies.

How it works

Contact will be made with interested groups and organisations within West Cornwall to both publicize the project, raise awareness of a planned presence in the area and to identify events and activities that a representative could attend to distribute information and give advice to attendees.

If you run or attend any gatherings where you think it may be useful to have a representative to come and talk about the project or have a stand giving out information and advice then please get in touch. The type of events may include luncheon clubs, farmers markets, village hall events, local fete, WI, parent and toddler groups etc.

Partners

CRCC is delivering the project and Calor Gas Limited is funding it. We are working in partnership with National Energy Action (NEA), Carbon Reduction Commitment, Energy Efficiency Scheme (CRC) and we are working closely with Community Energy Plus (CEP).

This is a national campaign and is being delivered by other Rural Community Councils across England.
