The first LINk (Local Involvement Network) open meeting event will take place on Thursday 22nd May 2008 at the Shire House Suite Bodmin starting at 10.30am which is open to everyone.
What is the LINk? The LINk will be a network of local people (drawn from the community) groups and organisations who want to make health and social care services better throughout the County.
The LINk is supported by CRCC (Cornwall Rural Community Council) as the Independent Host Organisation working in partnership with Age Concern Cornwall & Isles of Scilly and Penwith Community Development Trust and funded by the Department of Health.
Outline of activity over the next 6 months will be to create a newsletter; this newsletter will be the regular method of communication. The number of issues each year will be determined by the LINk when it is up and running. Additional support staff will be recruited as soon as possible. The first open meeting for the LINk’s development will be at the Shire House Suite, Bodmin on Thursday 22nd May 2008, starting at 10.30 am, which is open to everyone.
Anne Nicholls from Age Concern Cornwall says “This is a new venture for all of us we will make sure that we build on the good work of the Patient Forums, but also ensure, that a much wider group are actively involved in the LINk work. We, the host, will be relying on the good sense and good will of all the interested parties over the next six months to build a LINk for Cornwall that will work for the patients and the public”.
