Penrice Carers Group which is supported by Cornwall Rural Community Council (CRCC) Carers’ Support Service was presented with a cheque for £250 by Councillor Shirley Polmounter on behalf of Restormel Borough Council. The grant will enable the group to fund activities, and speakers giving them information and much needed respite from their caring role.

Carer support groups provide a link for carers to meet others in a similar situation. There are more than 40 across Cornwall and are a good and safe way of sharing experiences and information.

Carers are people whose lives are restricted by taking responsibility for the care of someone who, due to frailty, severe illness or disability is unable to manage alone.
