What is a Mental Health Forum?

It’s a gathering of anyone with mental health problems including service Users and Carers. There are six forums across Cornwall supported and co-ordinated by the Mental Health Co-ordinators at the CRCC.

The forums aim to:

  • Provide a safe, non-judgemental meeting point for the sharing of ideas, experiences and concerns.
  • Increase public awareness of mental health issues and strengthen the voice of Users and Carers.
  • Act as a pressure group for the improvement of mental health services.
  • Provide Social Services, the Health Authority and Partnership NHS Trust with a group of interested Users and Carers who can be consulted and actively involved in planning and service development.
  • Be a link between service Users and paid workers.
  • Act as a source of information on mental health issues.
