Local Area Agreements (LAA)
It is an agreement on a programme of activity to deliver shared priorities that will make a real difference for Cornwall's communities.
What are these priorities?
There are 4 main headings:
Within these headings, there are lots of things we can aim for - drawn from the districts and county community strategies. The process of deciding what these targets or outcomes should be is being looked at now.
All sectors - the public, private and voluntary & community sectors - are involved in the process of putting together the LAA. We will all have a role in making it work so it is only right that we all have a say in what goes in to it.
It should mean that we have fewer area based initiatives and more joining up of agencies. Much of the funding that has previously come into the county in separate funding streams will now come into one central pot through the LAA and we will all have to work together to agree how it should be spent.
