ICT Support

Cornwall Rural Community Council now offer an ICT support service to charities and voluntary groups.

What we can do...

  • Carry out audits on existing hardware and software, suggesting improvements in specification, if and where required.
  • Provide evaluations and expert advice on user support and training needs.
  • Assist in the provision of third party training, to aid in the achievement of self-sufficiency.
  • Help and advise groups/organisations on the acquisition of the correct hardware and software, based on a ‘best value for money’ basis, ensuring that charitable discounts, where applicable, are taken up.
  • Ensure that the correct equipment and software is supplied, including essential supplies, fittings and services.
  • Assist with the installation, testing and integration of new equipment and software.
  • Advise on appropriate security and regular back-up facilities.
  • Ensure that virus protection is adequate and that there is a regular virus protection update mechanism.
  • Provide ongoing technical advice either in person, via e-mail or on the phone.
  • Offer a ‘hands on’ approach to aid practical assistance and provide ‘troubleshooting’ support.
  • Help with the development and maintenance of ICT systems, such as e-mails, internet usage, intranets, computerised databases and applications, which will aid efficiency and organisational effectiveness.
  • Advise groups/organisations in regard to technological change, highlighting positive impacts and organisational improvements.
  • Help with the creation, improvement and maintenance of websites/signpost to where the best advice and help can be found.
