Take Part

Take Part is the national learning framework for active learning for active citizenship. The Take Part framework provides a manual for learning providers. It enables them to develop programmes of citizenship learning to help adults gain the knowledge, skills and confidence they need to become empowered as members of their communities.

Take Part is based on the values of: Social justice, Participation, Equality, Diversity and Co-operation.

The aim is to provide programmes of active learning that enable people to gain the skills, knowledge and confidence to become empowered citizens – citizens who are able to make an active contribution to their communities and influence public policies and services.

In Cornwall, Voluntary Sector Forum is responsible for implementing and running this programme in conjunction with CRCC and other following organsiations: East Cornwall Council for Voluntary Service (ECCVS), Cornwall Neighbourhoods for Change (CN4C), Age Concern, Penwith Community Development Trust (PCDT) and Volunteer Cornwall.

The Cornwall Rural Community Council are undertaking this survey on behalf of Take Part Cornwall. The aim of the survey is to identify the difficulties faced by local community organisations/groups and Parish Councils to recruit and retain volunteers. In particular we would like to know where there are gaps in filling particular roles and how we may be able to help.

Take Part Cornwall is a partnership of organisations working across the county to provide information, training and support for people who want to make a difference in their communities. Click here to take survey
