Community Enterprise Development Grant

Community Enterprise Development Grant – Successful applicants

Cornwall Rural Community Council invited social enterprises in Cornwall to apply for Development Grants of up to £1000. This fund closed on 31st March 2008 having been made available through the Capacitybuilders programme to help create a more effective third sector. As a small grants scheme it was aimed at organisations that could demonstrate greatest impact in the development of their social enterprise or best value in terms of achieving business outcomes. The grants were administered by the Cornwall Rural Community Council working in partnership with the Cornwall Community Foundation to deliver enhanced support to emerging and existing social enterprises in Cornwall.

The following social enterprises were successful in their applications:

  • Azook CIC – Sense of Place, Redruth
  • Cornish World Media, Penzance
  • Liskeard Galleries CIC
  • National Lobster Hatchery, Padstow
  • Pensilva Fitness Centre, Liskeard
  • Sustainable Trust, Camborne
  • Tremayne Hall, Mylor
  • West Cornwall Luggers Trust, Newlyn

Bob Northey, Community Enterprise Officer with CRCC said ‘The grant scheme has provide much needed financial help for both existing and emerging social enterprises in Cornwall that have little or no funds to assist with development. This funding will complement the range of business support services that we currently provide and I am delighted that the scheme has been such a success’
