Action with Communities in Rural England (ACRE) provides a national platform for its founder members, rural community councils (RCC’s), other bodies and individuals who work to alleviate rural disadvantage in England. As the national association of RCC’s, it also provides support for its member organisations to build their capacity in serving and responding to the needs of rural communities.
ACRE provides the focus for work that is either common or aims to be consistent across regions, ensuring that RCC’s and the rural voluntary and community sector interests are appropriately supported throughout the country.
ACRE delivers government funding, via Rural Community Action Network (RCAN) to RCC’s. To be eligible to access this funding, CRCC has achieved ACRE’s Quality Standards to Level 3, an accreditation scheme that demonstrates to external funders, partners and other bodies that CRCC embraces the concept of good practice and are a quality organisation.
