Vital Venues

Vital VenuesNew membership scheme provides support to Cornwall’s Vital Venues

Vital Venues, a new scheme providing advice and resources to assist community hall management committees, is launching across Cornwall and proving to be a great success.

Following a successful pilot project which has already helped to save members significant sums of money, Vital Venues is now developing more benefits and resources to support those who run Cornwall’s Community Buildings.

One of the new members, Bill Berry, Chair of Lanreath Village Hall, said,

“What an important lifeline this service is with the practical information to help our committee and financial savings to be had. The extra benefit is that being part of Vital Venues means we don’t feel alone anymore.”

Vital Venues has been launched by Cornwall Rural Community Council (CRCC), building on their 65 years of experience within this field. The service helps people who manage the local village hall, community centre, church hall and other venues to reduce running costs, increase income and improve management practices.

The main vehicle for this new scheme is via a great website, www.vitalvenues.org.uk, which gives practical advice and an opportunity to hook up with other communities to share best practice.

Jon Teague, Vital Venues Coordinator at CRCC said,

“The CRCC are proud to deliver this scheme which offers huge benefits to any community venue.  The knowledge and expertise we can offer is vast, from savings on insurance and heating to updating members with the latest legislation and technologies.  Vital Venues is also a great way to provide management support and promote Cornish community buildings”.

A roadshow introducing Vital Venues is set to start at the end of June and will be coming to a venue near you.
